Mike Young is the co-founder and Director of Sports performance for Human Performance Consulting, a sports consulting agency aimed at helping elite amateur and professional athletes reach their potential. He is also an assistant coach at West Point Military Academy where he coaches the sprints and pole vault. Prior to joining Army he served as a graduate assistant coach with LSU's championship track and field team for 4 years where he coached the jumps and multi-events. Mike is certified as a USATF Level II coach in the throws, jumps, and sprints, as well as being certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the NSCA and a Club Coach by USA Weightlifting. Mike has a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and M.S. in Athletic Administration from Ohio University where he also worked with the track and field team. He is the Shot Put Biomechanist for USATF’s High Performance Division, and the Biomechanics Chairperson, Vertical Jumps Chairperson, and Director of Technology for USATF’s Coaches Education Division. Mike is currently completing his doctorate in Biomechanics.
